Secrets of Strugur
A secretive cabal worshiped as god-kings by a hierarchy of uncountable slaves that form a kingdom in Akaflege. The term is used interchangeably to the god-kings, their slaves, and the kingdom as a whole, modified such as “Servants of the Salitani” only when necessary.
No verifiable descriptions of the Salitani Masters exists, and rumors of their nature are an ever popular (and ever more outlandish) engine of idle speculation in Strugur. Currently the most popular theory among tavern dwellers in Pretarre is that they’re monstrous bastards born of dragons thoroughly ravaged by Hysoli in an epic sexual escapade. The exact details of the story mutate rapidly as the lower classes of bards trade it among one another and apply their creativity; telling it in Darvoza would likely bring a swift execution.
The Salitani take slaves of all races, but their number is overwhelmingly Humans from other parts of Akaflege. Thus far they have not accosted traders and representatives from the established civilizations of Strugur, and indeed seem happy to accommodate efforts of certain Marqon and Dwarven companies eager to establish trade for their wondrous spices and exotic crafts. However, if offended, or if they perceive a group to be outside the protection of any authority the Salitani have recognized as legitimate, they “incorporate” the outsiders without hesitation.
